The May “Try a craft” was macramé and I found it more fun than baking bread or stamping, but less fun than crochet or knitting (which are different ways of tying knots!) I’m glad I have learned the basic square knot and spiral knot, but I am not going to make any more large pieces. I finished my plant hanger without buying more rope (but I did use twine for the gathering knot). I had to redo it three times to make it even, able to go through the ring and be short enough to not run out. But I am happy with it! It is going to hold my “string of dolphins” plant in my office.

My friend Brian does macrame (and basketry and caning and other stuff) and he made really cool bottle carriers for our family. My husband’s handle has a buckle with a compass and whistle in it. My daughter added a phone holder to hers.

In June I’m exploring photography. I will be going to Disney World with my daughter who took photography in college and is an excellent animal photographer. My husband is a drone photographer and also does camera photography. As for me, I love taking photos and looking at photos, but I use my old iPhone SE. I’m interested in learning about how to improve these photos by thinking about angles, lighting and composition. I don’t plan on buying equipment or going back to regular film (yes, I’m that old). I had a 1984 Olympics camera and I think I accidentally dropped it off a cliff in California (the story might have gotten muddled in my head).
