Try a Craft- Needle Felting level 2

For January, my craft to try out is needle felting. Last week I did a cookie cutter shape. This week I’m using a polystyrene egg as the base of a 3D figure. I decided to make a dragon (but apparently it’s a Loki dragon, it just came out that way).

Needle felting is basically repeatedly stabbing wool until it does something. I see its potential and will keep it in my skill set, but I don’t think it’s going to replace knitting and sewing as my go-to craft.

To make the dragon I smushed the end of the egg to make sure it would stand up. Then I used a single barbed needle to add wool. I made little balls of wool to make feet and a head, then created wings and horns using a felting mat. A tip to add object together is to keep one end fluffy for easier attaching. I used the eyes that came with my felting kit. What should I felt next week? A world in a teacup? A dog or cat? Or something else?

For my first attempt, not bad! I could have made a head that wasn’t part of the body, it looks like the little fellow is squishing himself like a turtle going into a shell.
