Macrame Knot Fun

My third installment of “Macra-May” …

I have not started my plant hanger, because an entire spool of rope apparently is not enough for the project pattern. So I can either improvise with what I have, or go buy more. Since the reel was over 11 dollars, it would be much cheaper to buy a plant hanger. Or splurge and buy from a crafter- we saw some great pieces at a craft show for the Tulip Festival. The artist was using a pants hanger to do her work.

I’m doing other things, like sewing backpack straps for a bag (the previous one I made was too squishy) and sewing a shirt. Learning to make button holes is something you apparently have to do every time you make button holes, at least in my experience. It’s like flying a plane (in that up is down, not in any other respect, I really hope pilots don’t have to relearn how to fly each time!)

I worked a bit on the jewelry aspect of macrame, using bamboo cord to make a necklace. I also pulled out an old book on making friendship bracelets and tried out a pattern. Ugh- so fiddly when it’s embroidery floss thickness. I would have to be majorly bored and caffeinated to finish the chevron bracelet I started.

After writing this out, I decided I am going for the improvisational route- it’s how I roll. Wish me luck!
